SIR In UP: EC Extends Voter List Revision By 15 Days, Final Electoral Roll To Be Out On February 28 | Check Schedule

SIR In UP Last Date: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign for the state's voter list by another 15 days. Enumeration forms can now be submitted until December 26, and the final publication of the electoral roll will take place on February 28.

Focus On Verification Of Absent And Deceased Voters

On Tuesday, Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa wrote to the Election Commission of India requesting a 14-day extension for the campaign. On Thursday, the Commission approved a 15-day extension. Navdeep Rinwa explained that the request was made to allow District Magistrates to re-verify deceased, shifted, and absent voters. The Commission's objective is to ensure a completely error-free voter list.

Revised Schedule And Key Dates

The Chief Electoral Officer stated that the Commission has issued a revised schedule, extending the declared SIR dates by 15 days. The enumeration period will now continue until December 26, during which forms will be submitted.

Draft Publication: The draft publication of the voter list is now scheduled for December 31.

Claims and Objections: These will be accepted from December 31 to January 30.

Disposal: Decisions on enumeration forms and the disposal of claims and objections will be carried out from December 31 to February 21.

Final Publication: The final voter list will be published on February 28.
