Tourists visiting the Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary in Unnao will soon be able to experience the jungle even at night, thanks to a new AR-VR (Augmented and Virtual Reality) dome being developed by the Eco-Tourism Development Board. This will be the first sanctuary in the state to offer such a high-tech virtual facility.
The spherical AR-VR dome will function like a 360-degree virtual theatre, allowing visitors to view immersive jungle scenes at any time of the day. Sitting inside the dome, tourists will be able to witness a lifelike forest environment, creating the feeling of actually being inside the jungle.
With tourist numbers steadily rising across Uttar Pradesh, the tourism department has intensified efforts to promote eco-tourism. As part of this strategy, overnight stay options are being introduced at major eco-tourism sites.
At locations such as Dudhwa National Park, private companies are offering cottage accommodations under the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model. The department aims to encourage visitors to stay at least one night to connect more closely with nature.
