The Uttar Pradesh government is focusing on empowering secondary school students with technical and practical knowledge through a range of modern initiatives. So far, ICT (Information and Communication Technology) labs have been established in 778 government secondary schools, while the process of setting up ICT labs in 1,084 schools and smart classes in 1,236 schools is progressing rapidly.

As part of the effort, 101 Atal Tinkering Labs have been set up in government schools, allowing students to explore science and technology through hands-on experiments.

The initiative aims to equip students with 21st-century skills such as digital literacy, creativity, problem-solving, and innovation, while providing exposure to advanced technologies like robotics, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence.

In addition, vocational education is being offered in 645 schools under the ‘Samagra Shiksha Madhyamik’ programme, ensuring students from both rural and urban areas have equal opportunities.

Officials said these measures will not only enhance the quality of education but also improve employment prospects and foster entrepreneurship among students.
