Floods have affected 37 tehsils and 402 villages across 17 districts of Uttar Pradesh, impacting over 4,015 hectares of land. The affected districts include Kanpur Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Agra, Auraiya, Chitrakoot, Ballia, Banda, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur, Etawah, and Fatehpur.

Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami informed that the NDRF, SDRF, and PAC teams are actively engaged in rescue and relief operations, using 493 boats and motorboats. So far, 6,536 food packets and 76,632 lunch packets have been distributed. In addition, 29 langars are providing meals to affected families.

A total of 11,248 people have taken shelter in 905 flood shelters, while 2,759 cattle have been safely relocated. The government has distributed 500 quintals of fodder. Out of 343 damaged houses, 327 victims have already received financial assistance. To prevent waterborne diseases, 1,29,571 chlorine tablets and 37,089 ORS packets have also been distributed.

As of now, relief has been extended to 47,906 people out of the total 84,392 affected.

In a proactive measure, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has deployed 11 cabinet ministers to assess and oversee the ongoing relief work on the ground. The CM is personally monitoring the situation and coordinating relief efforts.

On the Chief Minister's instructions, various ministers visited the flood-hit areas to inspect relief measures:

-Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Mishra ‘Dayalu’ visited Ballia.

-Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh assessed the situation in Jalaun and Hamirpur.

-Minister of State Sanjay Gangwar also reached Jalaun.

-Minister Dharmveer Prajapati visited Etawah and distributed relief materials.

-In Prayagraj, Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ interacted with flood victims and distributed aid. He also inspected submerged areas by boat.

-In Varanasi, MLA and former minister Dr Neelkanth Tiwari provided relief material in Konia and Rajghat.

Additional responsibilities have been assigned as follows:

-Swatantra Dev Singh in Mirzapur and Banda,

-Pratibha Shukla in Auraiya,

-Ramkesh Nishad in Hamirpur,

-Jaiveer Singh in Agra,

-Suresh Khanna in Varanasi,

-Sanjay Nishad in Kanpur Dehat,

-Ajit Pal in Fatehpur.

The administration continues to monitor the situation closely, with coordinated efforts to ensure timely relief and the safety of affected populations.
