UP Flood Fury:  As the water level of many rivers in Uttar Pradesh has risen due to heavy rainfall in the past few days, at least three people including two children have died due to drowning in Bareilly. Another died in Pilibhit due to drowning. At least nine more people died in rain-related incidents in eight districts of Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours.

The state’s flood situation is changing along with the river water levels. The flood waters in Shahjahanpur, which was due to the increased water level of the Garra and Khannaut rivers, have come down, but both rivers are still above the danger level.

Roads Blocked Due To Flood

The flood waters from the Ramganga River near Badaun's Dataganj has caused disruptions on the Shahjahanpur-Lucknow route. In Farrukhabad, the Ramganga has also nearly reached the danger point. The flood in Amaiyapur has caused traffic disruptions in several areas. Ganga water levels in Prayagraj, Varanasi, Mirzapur, and Kanpur are increasing.

In Siddharthnagar, the Budhi, Rapti, Kudra, and Ghoghi rivers, as well as the hill stream Telar, are all above the danger mark, and vehicles have begun to move on the Delhi-Lucknow highway after the water level at the Bareilly turn in Shahjahanpur was reduced. The Farrukhabad road is still clogged with water, and the majority of the rivers in the Gorakhpur-Basti division are in spate.

The Rapti River crossed the danger mark on Saturday in Sant Kabir Nagar. Saryu has also reached the danger mark in Deoria. The water level of Saryu decreased slightly on Saturday in Azamgarh, Mau, and Ballia, but it is still flowing above the danger mark. The Ganga is rising in Varanasi and Mirzapur. As a result of the risk of erosion and flood, people are moving away from the coast to safer areas. In Jaunpur, the water level of Gomti has increased by eight feet in the past day.
