The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the creation of 948 posts in three newly established state universities, Guru Jambheshwar University in Moradabad, Maa Vindhyavasini University in Mirzapur, and Maa Pateshwari University in Balrampur, to strengthen their functioning, officials said on Tuesday.

Vacancies Divided Into Two Categories

The sanctioned posts include 468 temporary non-teaching positions, effective till February 28, 2026, and 480 roles to be filled through outsourcing. The move aims to enhance administrative and academic operations, while also creating employment opportunities for youth.

State Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh is setting new benchmarks in higher education. “This is a major step towards strengthening universities and making the state a leader in education,” he added.

Each university will get 156 non-teaching posts covering pharmacists, electricians, junior engineers, stenos, accountants, lab staff, registrars, medical officers, and nurses. Recruitment will be done through the Subordinate Services Selection Commission, direct hiring, promotions, or deputations.

Additionally, 160 posts per university will be outsourced, including computer operators, sanitation staff, security guards, gardeners, drivers, and library attendants. Outsourcing will be conducted via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal to ensure transparency, with appointments following reservation norms and departmental guidelines.

How To Apply For Recruitment Process

The application process will vary depending on the type of vacancy:

For 468 Temporary Posts: Recruitment for non-teaching positions will be handled by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) through direct recruitment, promotions, and deputations. All government reservation rules and procedures will be strictly followed.

For 480 Outsourced Posts: Hiring will be carried out transparently via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal. The universities will ensure compliance with directives from the MSME, Labour, and Personnel departments.
