In yet another gruesome and horrific dowry death, an incident has occurred in UP’s Amroha, where a woman was allegedly forced by her in-laws to consume acid after the unmet dowry demand of Rs 10 lakh cash and a car.
Amroha Dowry Death: Here’s What Happened With Gulfisha
- The incident occurred in Amroha of Uttar Pradesh, where 23-year-old Gulfisha died after her in-laws forced her to drink acid for dowry. Gulfish was married to Parvez about a year ago in Kalakheda village under Didauli police station area, police said.
- As per the police, the incident occurred on August 11, when Gulfisha was forced to drink acid and was admitted to the hospital in critical condition, where she died after a battle for life for 17 days.
- The family of the victim alleges that she was subjected to persistent harassment over dowry.
The victim’s father, Furakan, has registered a case against the accused family, including seven people, along with the husband, Parvez. Those named in FIR are- Parvez, Asim, Gulista, Monish, Saif, Bhura, and Babbu. The case has been registered under the relevant sections of BNS.
- As per the CO City, "Once the post-mortem report is received, provisions related to dowry death will be added and all accused will be arrested.”
- The incident has refreshed the horrific memory of the Greater Noida Dowry death, where Nikki Bhati was allegedly murdered by her husband and in-laws for Rs 36 lakh dowry after they poured an inflammable item on her and set her ablaze alive.
