UP Jungle Safari: In good news for nature enthusiasts and Safari lovers, all major tiger reserves and national parks in Uttar Pradesh will swing open their gates to visitors starting this Saturday, November 1.

In a boost to eco-tourism, the tourism season kicks off 15 days earlier than usual, with Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Minister Arun Kumar Saxena set to inaugurate the proceedings.

Saxena will first head to Dudhwa National Park for the ceremonial launch, followed by a visit to Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, where he'll officially declare the season underway. "This early start is a deliberate move to give more people a chance to connect with our rich biodiversity while the weather is ideal," a senior forest official told reporters.

Spotlight On Biodiversity Hotspots

Uttar Pradesh boasts four premier wildlife destinations, each a treasure trove of rare species and stunning natural beauty. These include Dudhwa National Park, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve, Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary, and the Ranipur Tiger Reserve in Chitrakoot.

Dudhwa and Pilibhit, in particular, draw crowds with sightings of Bengal tigers, elephants, and the majestic swamp deer (barasingha). Rhinos add an extra thrill at Dudhwa, making it a must-visit for safari enthusiasts.

To enhance the experience this year, the forest department is rolling out fresh amenities, including streamlined booking processes and guided eco-tours.

Online Booking Portal Goes Live For Seamless Safaris

Tourists can now book safaris in advance through a dedicated online portal. The minister will unveil the platform on Saturday, promising greater transparency and convenience. "This digital upgrade will make reservations hassle-free, ensuring every visitor gets a fair shot at prime slots," said an official from the department.

Season Runs Till Mid-2026 with Strict Eco-Guidelines

Principal Chief Wildlife Warden Anuradha Vemuri confirmed the tourism window will span from November 1 to June 14, 2026, expecting thousands of domestic and international visitors to flock to these green havens. To balance thrill with conservation, the department has ramped up safety measures, enforced guidelines, and focused on maintaining ecological harmony. Beyond adventure, officials highlight the season's ripple effects: boosting environmental awareness and creating jobs for local communities through guiding, hospitality, and craft sales. Visitors are urged to embrace responsible tourism—stick to trails, avoid plastics, and respect wildlife—to keep these spots pristine. "Tourism isn't just about selfies; it's about sustainable stewardship," Vemuri emphasised.
