In a chilling incident, a man allegedly killed his mother by strangling her over a property dispute in Uttar Pradesh's Kaushambi district. The murder took a gruesome turn when the accused hanged her body with a rope to pass it off as suicide.
Providing details about the incident, the police said that the accused has been identified as 30-year-old Kishan Kishore, a resident of Kherwa village in Kaushambi district.
According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday. The police said that the accused strangled her mother, Sheela (50), fearing that she would transfer her land and Rs 3 lakh kept in her bank account to his brother.
Speaking about the case, Kasuhambi Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar told the media that Sheela Devi had been staying at her cousin Jai Singh's house in Kherwa village for some time.

On Thursday evening, her body was found hanging from a noose in Jai Singh's house. Initially, it was suspected to be a suicide, but the post-mortem report revealed strangulation as the cause of her death.
Based on the post-mortem report and electronic evidence, police questioned Kishan, who admitted to committing the murder and trying to pass it off as a suicide. SP Kumar said that Kishan was arrested and sent to jail on Friday.
Woman kills children, died by suicide
In another incident in Karnataka's Bengaluru, a 27-year-old woman killed her two children before dying by suicide, the police said on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Vijayalakshmi and her two children aged 1 and 4, they said. The family hailed from Raichur district but lived in Bengaluru as the woman's husband worked in a mall here.
Police said that the incident took place on Thursday. ad they suspect that a dispute with her husband over some issues could have led her to take the extreme step.
