Gorakhpur Cow Smuggling: A youth was shot dead by the cow smugglers in Gorakhpur on Monday night, triggering tension in the city. The victim was identified as Deepak, son of Durgesh Gupta and a NEET student. The miscreants shot in the mouth and leg near Bhatta Chauraha in Pipraich. His relatives took him to the hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead.

Policemen Injured In Clash With Victim's Family Members
As soon as the news of Deepak's death was received, the family gathered at the spot and created a ruckus, demanding the arrest of the accused. They clashed with the policemen and pelted stones at the cops. Several policemen, including the SHO, were reported to be injured in the incident. PAC has been deployed in view of the tension in the village.
The incident took place at 1 am in the night. Deepak, a resident of Bhatta Tola, stopped the suspicious youths roaming in the village, and then the cow smugglers attacked him. When he protested, they caught him. He was shot first in the leg and then in the mouth with a pistol.
When the family and the villagers gathered after hearing the sound of firing, the attackers fled. The villagers set the animal smuggler's vehicle on fire and also caught one of them. The family alleges that this incident is a well-planned conspiracy, which was carried out by the miscreants due to the failure of the police.
When Pipraich police tried to stop the people creating ruckus, a clash broke out in which many policemen including Pipraich SHO were injured. Seeing the situation deteriorating, heavy police force was deployed.
PAC has been deployed in the village and many senior officers including SP North are camping there. Amidst the tense atmosphere, the police has started an investigation.
