The Uttar Pradesh government is looking to bring a new township in Mainpuri. According to the plan, the possibilities of Awas Vikas Project Part-2 are being explored in the Sadar tehsil area near the proposed Singhpur Canal Bridge.

In that direction, a team from the Agra Housing Development Council has already conducted a physical inspection to find land.

The new township is under consideration because the district's population is expanding rapidly and demand for residential areas is increasing accordingly.

Meanwhile, the land prices in the city are also rising rapidly. Given the rising needs of the people, preparations are underway to launch the Awas Vikas Project Part-2. According to the plan, the township will be developed on approximately 285 acres of vacant land in the Sadar Tehsil area near the Singhpur Canal Bridge.

The final discussion on the project between Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh and officials from the Housing Development Council has been held in this regard.

Housing Development Council officials have also conducted a site inspection of the land, and the proposal has been approved in Agra and sent to the government.

If all goes well, the project could be implemented by the end of this year. Land is currently unavailable to residents in the former Awas Vikas Colony, located in the heart of the city.

Even if some houses and vacant plots are available for sale, they are worth crores of rupees. In such a situation, Awas Vikas Project Part-2 could be quite convenient for residents.

A new city will be built

Meanwhile, the construction of the Southern Bypass has also been proposed to quickly alleviate the city's traffic congestion. This bypass is 20 km long and is estimated to cost Rs 595 million. While this will provide relief from traffic jams, it will also open new avenues for expansion and employment.

This bypass will further improve connectivity between Agra and Etawah. If the said housing project is launched along this bypass, it will rapidly increase the population. Thus, a new city will be established within that 20 km area.
