The condition of the District Hospital has gone from bad to worse since its affiliation with Kalyan Singh Government Medical College. Digital X-ray films have been out of stock for the past two months. Consequently, instead of receiving a physical film report, patients are being asked to take a photograph of the X-ray using their mobile phones. Despite repeated requisitions being sent to the authorities, the supply of X-ray films has not been replenished.

The District Hospital is equipped with both a standard X-ray machine and a digital X-ray machine. Since the diagnostic reports from the digital machine are of superior quality, X-rays for critical patients are typically conducted using this equipment. However, with the film stock exhausted for two months, the facility is struggling. Although several demands for the films have been sent to the Medical College, the supply has yet to arrive.

As a result, healthcare staff are refusing to provide physical films to patients undergoing digital X-rays. Once the scan is completed, staff members instruct patients to switch on their mobile cameras and take a picture of the report displayed on the monitor screen. Patients then have to present this digital photo to the doctor for diagnosis.

Doctors have expressed concern regarding this arrangement, stating that they cannot perform an accurate diagnosis using X-ray reports viewed on mobile phone screens. Dr Pradeep Rana, Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the District Hospital, confirmed that the digital X-ray films are out of stock and stated that the Principal of the Medical College has already been apprised of the situation.
