According to directives from the Directorate General of School Education, KGBVs are being gradually upgraded to the intermediate level. Out of 746 schools, 388 have already been upgraded to offer education up to class 12, with the remaining expected to follow by next year. The skill training program will target girl students from class 8 to class 12.
These certificate courses will be conducted in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission. Additionally, Basic Education Officers in each district have been directed to identify demand-driven trades suitable for training, ensuring that girl students are trained in their preferred vocations. The initiative aims to equip them with the skills needed to secure employment or start their own ventures.
