Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor: The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut section of the Namo Bharat high-speed train corridor is all set for operations, marking a major milestone in the region's rapid rail connectivity. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) announced that the newly electrified stretch between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan is now ready for trial runs.

This section has been successfully electrified with a 25-kilovolt Overhead Equipment (OHE) system, ensuring it's ready to support high-speed train movement. The power is supplied from the Sarai Kale Khan Receiving Substation, in collaboration with Delhi Transco Limited and Gas Turbine Power Station (GTPS). For now, power supply is routed via the Ghaziabad RSS.

The Overhead Equipment (OHE) system, made of poles and cantilevers, is designed to support trains running at speeds up to 180 kmph, enabling fast and frequent services. According to the NCRTC, this segment plays a critical role in operationalising the entire Delhi section and boosting the overall efficiency of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor.
