In view of the upcoming Diwali and Chhath festivals, Uttar Pradesh DGP Rajeev Krishna has ordered the cancellation of leave for all police personnel across the state from October 16 to 28. According to the order, leave will be granted only in special circumstances with permission from senior officers.

Meanwhile, Gosainganj police conducted a raid in Matan Tola late Tuesday night, recovering 114 kg of illegal fireworks worth Rs 3,00,000. The accused, identified as Haseeb, was arrested on the spot.

Inspector Brajesh Tripathi stated that the raid followed a tip-off. Haseeb claimed he had brought the fireworks to sell during Diwali, but failed to produce any valid licence. The entire consignment has been seized, and a case has been registered under the Explosives Act.

This action reflects the police’s increased vigilance ahead of the festive season to prevent illegal activities and ensure public safety.
