In view of security arrangements during the upcoming festivals of Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath Puja, the leaves of UP police officers and personnel have been cancelled for one month. Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar has issued an order to suspend the leaves of police personnel from October 8 to November 8.
Leave will only be granted with the permission of senior officials under special circumstances. Strict security measures have been instructed to ensure safety in markets and other public places during these festivals.

“Leave of all types of police personnel is stopped from 08-10-2024 to 08-11-2024 in view of forthcoming Durga Puja/ Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath Puja festival. In special cases, leave may be sanctioned by you as per need. Ensure compliance strictly,” the notice read.
Police Personnel to Benefit from E-Pension System: Yogi
Police personnel will now benefit from the e-pension system launched by the UP government. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions in this regard. After connecting with the 'Manav Sampada' portal, retired police officers will no longer need to visit departmental offices repeatedly for pension-related matters.
CM Yogi has also directed that preparations should be made to announce the results of the written examination for the recruitment of 60,244 constable positions by the end of the month. The Chief Minister held a special meeting with ADG-level officials to review various units.
During the meeting, Yogi sought details from the ADGs regarding the work done, innovations implemented, and achievements during their tenure. He also instructed to improve the rules for recruitment under the deceased dependent quota, keeping practicality in mind. He suggested that rules should be reconsidered, taking into account the age of the dependent.
