A youth used to make friends with other train passengers and obtain their phone passwords by pretending to play Ludo with them on their phones. He used to drug the passengers and take their belongings, such as cash, ATM cards, and cell phones, before getting off the train after gaining this information. After obtaining the stolen phones, he would utilise them to alter the victims' passwords and take money out of their accounts.

The Uttar Pradesh Ghaziabad GRP police force caught the young person. By making friends with other travelers and earning their trust, the accused, who worked alone, would loot them.

According to the police, the accused mostly targeted sleepers and general coaches on the Vaishali Express and Sampoorna Kranti Express trains. Before robbing his fellow travelers, he would frequently add drugs to their drinks. He used to travel to Bihar via rail.

“While socializing with passengers on the train, he used to play Ludo game on their mobile and while calling them, he used to see their mobile password. After making them unconscious, he used to get down from the train with their luggage and mobile. He used to change the ATM and UI ID password of the passenger from their mobile and withdraw money from their account." Circle Officer Government Railway Police (GRP) Sudesh Gupta stated.

The accused was identified as Sagir, a citizen of Darbhanga, Bihar, who is currently living in Ankur Vihar Lohani, Ghaziabad. It was discovered that the accused had eight cell phones, two Aadhar cards, a bag, a box of intoxicating pills, and Rs 67,150 in cash.

“The accused is a resident of Darbhanga, Bihar, who currently lives in Ankur Vihar Lohani, Ghaziabad. The name of the accused is Mohd. Sahir, who has been caught by GRP today. He has committed more than 20 crimes in the last two years and he used to target trains going to Bihar. After which he used to make reservations in the same trains," Gupta said.

Sagir's two-year spree of more than 20 crimes has ended with this arrest. In order to secure his escape route, he planned to purchase tickets on the same two trains that were traveling to Bihar.
