However, ahead of the government's approval, it will be decided which one of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will construct the expressway.
The government officials are likely to hold several meetings in the upcoming days to decide which body will be given the responsibility, reported News18. The proposed expressway is likely to cost over Rs 4,000 crore and will be constructed on Yamuna Pushta Road, connecting Noida and Greater Noida.
The authorities stated that most of the required land for the project is owned by the Irrigation Department, and the process to get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) has begun. They further stated that the authorities are considering constructing either a 6-lane elevated road or an 8-lane road at ground level.
The reports suggest that the proposed expressway will reduce traffic congestion on the Noida Expressway. It stated that the burden on the existing expressway is likely to increase after the functioning of the Noida International Airport. The authorities clarified that the proposed expressway will also provide convenience to the flight passengers due to its route. The expressway will also provide relief to the residents of Greater Noida traveling to Delhi.
