Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday announced that Rs 1 lakh would be provided as financial assistance to each bride under the 'Mukhyamantri Samoohik Vivah Yojana' (Mass Marriage Programme). Addressing a gathering at Shahi Qila in Jaunpur, where 1001 couples were married under the scheme, CM Adityanath said that the initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’
The chief minister highlighted that over four lakh women have benefited from the scheme. Initially, financial assistance under the scheme was Rs 15,000, which was later increased to Rs 25,000. Starting from April, this amount will be raised to Rs 1 lakh to support marriages further.

CM Yogi Adityanath also announced the establishment of an employment zone spanning 100 acres in each district to generate employment opportunities. These employment zones will be named after Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and will focus on skill development to equip the youth with job-oriented training.
Earlier in the day, CM Adityanath participated in an event where Rs 1,890 crore was distributed as subsidies to 1.86 lakh beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana in the state. This initiative aims to provide relief to families relying on LPG connections.
The chief minister also highlighted that as part of the UP government’s efforts to support and empower girls, meritorious students passing board exams will be provided with scooters under the Rani Laxmibai Scooty Scheme. The scheme aims to encourage girls, particularly from rural areas, to continue their education, addressing the issue of school dropouts due to long-distance travel challenges.
During his two-day tour of Kashi, CM Adityanath also inspected the under-construction international cricket stadium in Ganjari. He reviewed the model and received updates on the project’s progress. The CM instructed officials to expedite the construction and complete it within the stipulated timeline. Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma informed that preparations are underway to inaugurate the stadium in sync with the T20 World Cup match scheduled for February 2026.
