Uttar Pradesh News: Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana raised concerns on Tuesday about members spitting in the Vidhan Sabha hall after consuming pan masala. Speaking to the assembly before the day's proceedings, Mahana disclosed that he personally cleaned the affected area upon learning of the incident.
He mentioned that he had viewed footage of the incident but chose not to identify the MLA involved to prevent public embarrassment. "I received information this morning that someone spat in our Vidhan Sabha hall after consuming pan masala. I took the initiative to clean it up myself. I have seen the MLA in the video, but I do not want to humiliate anyone," Mahana stated.
He urged all assembly members to take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of the assembly. "If anyone witnesses such behaviour, they should intervene. It would be appreciated if the MLA involved came forward to admit their actions; otherwise, I will address the matter myself," he added.
