Karnataka News: A 40-year-old man from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, has reportedly taken his own life in Mangaluru, alleging deception and exploitation by a CISF woman officer. Abhishek Singh was found dead in a lodge near Rao & Rao Circle.

Before his death, Singh recorded a 20-minute video in which he accused CISF Assistant Commandant Monika Sihag of misleading him and concealing her marital status. He claimed that she had manipulated him emotionally, physically and financially, allegedly taking gold worth Rs 8 lakh from him. In the video, Singh also suggested that Sihag had similar relationships with other individuals.

Singh, who worked for a private firm in Chennai, had travelled to Mangaluru with colleagues to attend an exhibition. Following the incident, a case has been registered at the Pandeshwar police station, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death has been initiated.

In separate news, Karnataka's Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Vartika Katiyar has been transferred from the Internal Security Division (ISD) to the Home Guards after alleging a conspiracy against her by senior officer, Inspector General (IG) Roopa Moudgil. In her complaint, Katiyar claimed that Moudgil instructed lower-ranking officers to plant confidential documents in her office and later take photographs of the files.

Katiyar further accused Moudgil of threatening her with a negative annual report rating. The complaint also detailed an incident in which officers allegedly entered Katiyar's office without authorization. Despite the transfer, Katiyar's allegations have been dismissed by some within the department as baseless, citing a lack of evidence. Both Moudgil and Katiyar have not yet responded to the allegations publicly.
