In a shocking incident,  a man allegedly threw acid on her wife and two daughters after suspecting his wife of being involved in an illicit relationship, the officials said. The incident is reported to have taken place in Tikri village of Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur on Friday night.

The victims have been identified as 39-year-old Ramguni and her two daughters, 16-year-old Neha and 23-year-old Rachita. All were severely injured in the incident.

What did Police say?

Providing details about the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nagar Devendra Kumar, said on Sunday that the victim resided in a rented house in Tikri village with her two daughters and a son. The husband and accused, Ram Gopal, didn’t live with them. He lived in Shahabad town of neighbouring Hardoi district.

ASP Devendra Kumar said, "On Friday night, Ramguni and her daughters were asleep when her husband allegedly jumped over the wall, entered the house, and threw acid on them.”

Son files complaint against father

At the time of the incident, Ramguni's son Ashu was staying with a friend. After knowing about the incident, he filed a complaint with the police against his father.  The injured have been admitted to the Government Medical College in Shahjahanpur, where they are getting treatment.

Complainant Ashu told police that his father was an alcoholic and had sold his agricultural land in the Shahabad area due to his addiction. Following this, her mother moved to Tikri village with all three children. However, his father suspected her of infidelity and therefore, would frequently visit her.

Accused Ram Gopal fled the crime scene and has been at large. The police are making efforts to nab him.

Man strangles wife in Hapur

In another gruesome incident, a man strangled her wife during a heated argument over her wish to visit her parents. The man committed the act in a fit of rage and then called the police. He confessed of committing the crime.

The accused, named Rashid, living in Hapur's Rafiqnagar locality, killed his wife, Nazreen, after tensions were brewing for almost two days.
