A dedicated task force will soon begin evaluating the quality of education in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) across Uttar Pradesh. The inspection will assess whether teachers are effectively conducting classes and if students are comprehending the curriculum.
Divisional and district-level education officers have been assigned to carry out these inspections and submit detailed reports on both academic performance and the facilities provided at these schools.
The initiative covers all 746 KGBVs operating in the state. According to Deputy Education Director (Samagra Shiksha), Dr Mukesh Kumar Singh, regular inspections are being conducted to ensure continuous improvement.
These schools offer free residential education to girls in backward regions, with 388 KGBVs already upgraded to the Intermediate level, while the rest currently provide education up to Class 8.
The task force is expected to begin its work by the end of this month or the beginning of next month. Inspections will focus on whether the posted teachers and wardens are fulfilling their duties, the extent of the syllabus covered in April for each subject, and whether students are able to grasp the content. Additionally, on-site verification will be done to check the quality of food and accommodation in school hostels.
