With high school results recently declared, preparations are underway for the upcoming admission process in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across Uttar Pradesh. Admissions to both government and private ITIs will be conducted based on the merit of high school marks, with separate merit lists being prepared at the district, block, and tehsil levels.
The admission process is expected to commence by the end of this month. Alongside 305 government ITIs, admissions will also take place in 2,856 private ITIs. Each year, over five lakh students apply for more than one lakh seats through the entrance examination conducted by the Professional Entrance Examination Council.
However, this year, the selection will be strictly merit-based, potentially limiting opportunities for candidates with lower marks in high school. To ensure transparency, the application process will be conducted online through the official website.
A significant highlight of this year’s admission policy is the provision of a 10 per cent reservation for factory workers. This initiative aims to enhance and modernise the skills of industrial workers.
Chandrashekhar Singh, Principal of Government Industrial Training Institute, Charbagh, stated that this move will help workers improve the quality of their work and open new opportunities for growth. Admissions under this quota will also follow the merit-based system and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seat Overview:
-Government ITIs: 1,20,279 seats
-Private ITIs: 3,98,876 seats
-Total Private ITIs: 2,856
Online applications will soon be invited, marking the beginning of the admission cycle for the 2025-26 academic session.
