Women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) being trained as Micro-Enterprise Sakhis (Sukshma Udyam Sakhi) in Uttar Pradesh will soon receive a dedicated mobile application to support their business operations. The app is being developed by the UP State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM) to strengthen digital access and streamline enterprise development.
Under the Micro-Enterprise Sakhi initiative, 13,064 women are undergoing training as part of the state’s target to establish 6.5 lakh micro-enterprises.

UPSRLM aims to make SHG women financially self-reliant through multiple programmes, including BC Sakhi, Vidyut Sakhi, Krishi Ajeevika Sakhi, Pashu Sakhi, and Surya Sakhi. The Micro-Enterprise Sakhi programme has been rolled out across all districts, with four Sakhis appointed per Cluster Level Federation, each responsible for supporting around 50 women entrepreneurs.
These Sakhis are being trained in business setup, availing financial assistance, and marketing. Following training, bank loans will be facilitated with the help of Bank Sakhis. So far, over 11,000 Micro-Enterprise Sakhis have been selected, while recruitment continues for the remaining positions.

Mission Director Deepa Ranjan said the upcoming app will enable Sakhis to digitally handle tasks such as surveys, enterprise formation, and progress reporting, strengthening on-ground operational efficiency.
Officials believe the initiative will further promote women’s economic empowerment across the state.
