UP To Roll Out Multiple Housing Schemes; Key Decisions Expected On Dec 10 Board Meeting

Amid a surge in new housing initiatives, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is preparing to launch three housing schemes simultaneously in the new year. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Awas Evam Vikas Parishad has accelerated its expansion drive, rolling out 16 schemes across 13,045 acres in just two years to meet the growing demand for affordable housing.

Officials indicate that new projects may now be announced in smaller districts such as Chitrakoot. Notably, Lucknow’s Saumitra Vihar Yojana is likely to be launched on December 25, coinciding with Good Governance Day. The Parishad has been consistently unveiling schemes at regular intervals, expanding its footprint across eastern, western, northern, and southern regions of the state, with a special focus on smaller districts.

Most of the 16 schemes approved in recent board meetings are currently in the land acquisition phase, with full development expected to take around five years. Among them, the New Jail Road Saumitra Vihar Yojana in Lucknow has been progressing for four years. The lottery for farmers involved in the land pooling pilot project has already been conducted, and registration of allotted plots is underway. Once completed, public registrations will be opened.

A meeting of the Parishad’s Board of Directors is scheduled for December 10, where schemes for several districts, including Chitrakoot, may receive approval. Over 18 proposals are being finalised. The Board may also deliberate action against officials and employees whose inquiries into serious allegations have been completed.

Deputy Housing Commissioner Chandan Kumar Patel confirmed that suggestions have been sought from all departments, following which the proposals to be tabled before the Board will be finalised.
