Bengaluru Mobile Passport Van: How Will It Benefit Residents?

The mobile passport van is designed to support existing counters in processing applications and to help residents who find passport centres difficult to reach, bringing services closer to their neighbourhoods. If the initiative proves successful, the van is expected to operate weekly at multiple locations across Karnataka, further improving accessibility.

Speaking to TOI, a senior RPO official said, “Overcrowding in passport kendras came to our notice earlier this year. This is one way to address it. We wanted to gauge the response first, and based on that, extend it to other parts of the state and city with high passport demand.”
