To boost eco-tourism in Uttar Pradesh, the government plans to include Dudhwa National Park along with the spiritual destinations of Ayodhya and Kashi in its tourism tour packages. The Eco Tourism Development Board is working to promote rural tourism in Dudhwa by integrating yoga and wellness experiences for visitors.

Dudhwa is home to more than 120 species of trees, over 100 herbs, and rare orchids, making it an ecological hotspot. The expansion of tourist facilities at Dudhwa was discussed during a dialogue program organised by the Eco Tourism Development Board in collaboration with tour and travel operators. The event, chaired by Tourism Minister Jayveer Singh, was held on Thursday at the Tourism Bhavan auditorium.

Minister Jayveer Singh urged tour operators to include not only the spiritual centers but also Dudhwa National Park in their travel itineraries. He emphasised that Dudhwa Tiger Reserve represents one of the last remaining natural stretches of the vast Himalayan ecosystem. The park’s diverse wildlife—including mammals, birds, reptiles, insects, and fish—along with its scenic beauty, makes it a major attraction for tourists.

Following directives from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, efforts are underway to develop Dudhwa as the country’s premier eco-tourism destination. A regional master plan for Dudhwa is currently being prepared to support this goal.

During the program, four types of proposed tour packages were introduced by the board. Sunil Choudhary, Principal Chief Forest Conservator and Head of the Department, praised the initiative.

Other key attendees included KK Singh, Managing Director of Forest Corporation; Lalit Kumar Verma, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests; Aditi Sharma, Chief Conservator of Forests Policy Analysis; Sanya Chhabra, Managing Director of UPSTDC; Dr. Rangaraju, Director of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve; and Prakhar Mishra, Director of Tourism Department, who also shared their valuable suggestions.
