UP Traffic Advisory: Heavy Vehicle Restricted On THESE Roads For Kanwar Yatra From Feb 5 | Check Alternate Routes

Kanwar Yatra Traffic Advisory: With over seven lakh pilgrims expected to pass through Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor for the Kanwar Yatra starting February 5, the district authorities have announced a traffic diversion plan to ensure public safety and prevent congestion. Under the plan, heavy vehicles will be restricted from plying on the pilgrimage routes from February 5.

However, vehicles carrying essential goods, such as food, fuel, and medical supplies, are exempted from these restrictions. Authorities have urged residents and motorists to plan journeys via alternate routes and cooperate with on-site personnel to ensure a seamless journey.

Kanwar Yatra Traffic Advisory: Check Roads Blocked

- Authorities have announced a complete ban on the movement of heavy vehicles, including trucks, dumpers, and tractor-trolleys, along the designated Kanwar route, Jagran.com reported.

- According to the traffic plan, heavy vehicles will face restrictions at several locations, including Mandawali, Najibabad, Nagina, Dhampur, Seohara, and routes connecting Bijnor to Chandpur and Noorpur.

- Both civil and traffic police will be deployed at key intersections to maintain smooth movement of vehicles, and restrict smaller vehicles if the number of pilgrims increases.

Check Alternate Routes

- Vehicles heading towards Haridwar from Bijnor will be diverted via Ganga Barrage through Muzaffarnagar.

- Vehicles carrying Kanwadis will go to Haridwar via Mandawar, Nangal, Mandawali, and Bhaguwala.

- There will be a ban on heavy and medium vehicles on the Bijnor to Mandawar-Balawali-Laksar route, the report added.

- Vehicles from Bijnor must take the four-lane highway to Najibabad, and then take the Najibabad bypass to reach Kotdwar.

- Heavy vehicles heading towards Kotdwar from Kotdwar will be diverted via Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Kiratpur and Najibabad.

- Light vehicles going towards Haridwar from Kotdwar will be diverted via Samipur Canal Track.
