The UP Transport Corporation has completed preparations for the Magh Mela, to be held in Prayagraj from January 3 (Paush Purnima) to February 15 (Mahashivratri). In view of the large crowd of devotees, a plan has been made to operate road buses on the lines of the Maha Kumbh Mela. Real-time tracking of buses will be provided during this period.
Of the 174 buses in the Rae Barelli depot, 110 will be operated for the Magh Mela. Strict instructions have been issued from the Lucknow headquarters office this time. Security teams will be deployed at all checkpoints, as in the Maha Kumbh 2025. Buses will be tracked in real time from the headquarters and regional control rooms, ensuring constant monitoring of bus movements.
As per the Transport Department's orders, all drivers will undergo health checks, specifically requiring night vision testing. Additionally, buses are also being inspected for emergency gates, brakes, lights, and other safety equipment.
The driver and conductor's mobile numbers will be displayed on the front windshields of the buses, allowing passengers to access them. This will allow buses parked in the wrong places in the fair area to be immediately removed. Furthermore, five drivers and five conductors will be stationed at the bus station in reserve, ensuring immediate bus operation in case of an emergency.

The bus tracking system has been tightened this time. Regional Manager RK Tripathi stated that all instructions are being strictly followed. It is the department's priority to ensure that buses sent to the Magh Mela do not cause any accidents. The Transport Corporation's primary objective is to provide safe, timely, and controlled transportation services to pilgrims.
