UP Weather Update: The Lucknow Centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted rain in different parts of Uttar Pradesh on August 15. However, the weather agency has not issued any alert for heavy rains in the state. Rainfall has a greater influence on the central and eastern portions. Light to moderate rainfall is forecast in Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Azamgarh. Cloudy weather is also forecast in some places, which might result in a slight drop in temperature.
Light rainfall has been expected in western UP. Cities including Meerut, Agra, Mathura, Noida and Ghaziabad may receive moderate rain as well as heavy rain in some places. As a result, cool weather may provide relief from the humid heat.
Light rain is forecast in some locations, which will be favorable to agriculture. However, drought-like conditions may continue in certain areas due to gloomy weather and lack of rain.
There is also a risk of lightning during the downpour, so the weather department has cautioned residents. It is recommended that people carry an umbrella or raincoat while going outside and avoid electrical equipment. Overall, the weather in Uttar Pradesh on August 15 will not only freshen the environment but will also provide a new colour to the Independence Day celebrations.
For the past several days, it has been raining heavily in Lucknow and other cities.
UP Five-Day Weather Forecast
There is a probability of rain, thunder, and lightning in certain areas of Western Uttar Pradesh on August 16. At the same time, there is a chance of heavy rain in several parts of Eastern UP.
On August 17, a warning was issued for rain and thunderstorms in various areas of western and eastern Uttar Pradesh. On the other side, several locations in western and eastern Uttar Pradesh may see rain and thundershowers on August 18, 19, and 20, with severe rain in certain areas. The IMD has issued a yellow signal for heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh on August 16, 17, and 18.
According to meteorologists, the monsoon trough line is currently traveling over Uttar Pradesh, causing dark clouds to form in the sky all throughout the state and continuing to rain. The weather will stay the same this week. There will be thunderstorms and lightning in several locations.
