UP Weather Forecast:  Heavy downpour has lashed several parts of the state since morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert on Thursday for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Lucknow, and Shamli, while a yellow alert for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms was issued for Meerut, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kasganj, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Mainpuri, Etawah, Lakhimpur Kheri, Hardoi, Auraiya and Amroha. Meanwhile, all government and non-government schools from Classes 1 to 12 are closed in Lucknow on August 14 due to heavy rainfall. The residents of Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience wet weather conditions with cloudy skies for the next few days.

Uttar Pradesh Weather: Monsoon Activity Likely To Intensify

Monsoon is currently at its peak in Uttar Pradesh and is likely to intensify over the next two to three days.

According to the IMD, a low-pressure system formed in the Bay of Bengal has shifted from its normal position. Due to the shift in its position and favourable weather conditions, monsoon activity is likely to intensify in Uttar Pradesh, with several districts, including Lucknow.

Till August 15, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in most parts of Uttar Pradesh, with heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places.

UP Weather Forecast: Eastern Districts To Experience Humidity & Heat

According to the latest forecast by IMD, multiple districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh are expected to witness hot and humid weather over the next 48 hours. Temperature is likely to increase by two to four degrees, with very little chance of rainfall in these areas.

UP Rains: Overcast Skies With Heavy Rainfall To Continue In Western UP

The India Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and cloudy skies in several parts of Western Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor and their surrounding areas.

Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Badaun, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Lucknow, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar and Baghpat are expected to witness thunderstorms and lightning till August 15.

Several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Lucknow, Agra, Orai, Basti, Banda, Sultanpur and Ayodhya, received heavy rainfall on Wednesday.
