The weather pattern in Uttar Pradesh might change in the coming days as predicted by the Meteorological Department. The state is likely to witness rains with thunderstorms from March 28 due to the effect of another western disturbance. The weather department has forecasted light rains for the next three days.

According to meteorologist Prof Shahi of the Agricultural and Technological University, Meerut, there is a chance of light rain in the Terai regions of Western Uttar Pradesh, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Rampur, Bareilly, and Moradabad on March 28-29.

Meerut and Muzaffarnagar might also witness drizzle, however, other districts are likely to remain dry.

Meanwhile, the weather in the state completely changed after Holi. A day before, light rains were seen in some places while the sky remained cloudy in a few areas.

On Monday, the maximum temperature was 29.8 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. It remained cloudy most of the day. In the evening a slight drop in temperature was also felt.

The Meteorological Department predicted that on March 27, the weather in the western and eastern parts of the UP will remain dry.

The weather is expected to change in both the eastern and western regions on March 29. At certain locations in both regions, rain and thunderstorms are anticipated during this time. In isolated areas of the Eastern and Western Uttar Pradesh, there is a chance of rain and thundershowers on March 30.

After March 30, the day temperatures might go up to 40 degrees Celsius, according to the weather department. The night temperatures will remain between 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.

Weather In Other States

Eastern and Northeastern states are likely to witness light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and the Western Himalayan region. In addition, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is predicted in Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Light rain was witnessed in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Western Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours, with predictions of light to moderate rain and thundershowers in the coming two days.
