UP Weather Update: Cold weather has firmly tightened its grip on Uttar Pradesh, with temperatures dropping sharply over the past two days. A spell of icy northwesterly winds has pulled the mercury down by nearly 4°C within 48 hours, making the chill far more pronounced than before. Among the major cities of the state, Kanpur has become the state’s coldest city for the second consecutive day. According to weather expert Dr SN Sunil Pandey, cited by Jagran.com, the areas surrounding Kanpur will also experience severe cold.

Severe Cold Weather Conditions From December 8

According to the India Meteorological Department, severe cold is expected to begin on December 8 with the arrival of a new western disturbance over the Himalayas. The western disturbance has caused snowfall in the mountains and the cold winds generated subsequently are rapidly moving towards the plains. This has resulted in rapid changes to the weather conditions in the first week of December.
