UP Weather: Several districts across Purvanchal, including the state capital Lucknow, received good rainfall on Monday afternoon, bringing much-needed relief from the sweltering humidity. Daytime temperatures in Lucknow dropped to 33.6°C, while the night temperature remained relatively high at 28°C.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rain for Tuesday and Wednesday in Lucknow, with a further intensification of the monsoon expected from Thursday. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are also likely across many parts of the region.

Heavy Rain Expected In Western UP

Meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh stated that moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over the next two to three days in several districts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Bijnor, and Moradabad. Residents in these areas have been advised to stay indoors unless necessary, as thunderstorms and lightning are also forecast.

Meanwhile, eastern Uttar Pradesh is likely to continue receiving rainfall in several districts, with weather conditions in Lucknow expected to remain consistent for the next four to five days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for several districts across eastern, central, and western Uttar Pradesh. Districts under alert include Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Baghpat, Meerut, Aligarh, Kasganj, Etah, Firozabad, Amroha, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, and Badaun.

Along with rainfall warning, a lightning alert has been issued for over 35 districts. These include Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Lucknow, Unnao, Barabanki, Etawah, Mainpuri, Auraiya, and Sambhal.

Residents in the affected regions are advised to stay indoors during adverse weather conditions and follow safety advisories issued by local authorities.
