UP Weather Update: IMD Issues Rain Alert For Western Districts Till January 25; Dense Fog Likely In THESE Regions

UP Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the western districts of Uttar Pradesh are set to witness light to moderate rainfall from January 22. The weather department also informed that the cold wave and dense fog will continue to persist at least till January 21. However, it assured that the temperature is likely to increase by two to three degrees Celsius in the upcoming days. The presence of fog, especially in the morning hours, has severely affected the train and flight services, leading to inconveniences for the passengers. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings in the early hours.

While providing details, the weather department further stated that the western region is set to witness light to moderate rainfall in the upcoming days due to a western disturbance. The residents of several districts, including Meerut, Agra, Aligarh, Moradabad, and Saharanpur, are set to witness rainfall. While the continuous rain is likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, it will provide relief from the dense fog. The temperature in the western districts is also likely to drop after January 25.

The IMD further stated that the temperature is likely to slightly increase due to the influence of the western disturbance. It further stated that the residents of several districts, including Hardoi, Amethi, Ayodhya, Barabanki, and Lucknow, are likely to get relief from the cold wave in the upcoming days. It further stated that the dense fog is likely to persist in several districts, such as Shahjahanpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, and Basti.

Earlier on Sunday, the minimum temperature was recorded in Hardoi at 3.5 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the temperature in Amethi, Barabanki, Ayodhya, and Sultanpur also remained below 4 degrees Celsius. Along with Uttar Pradesh, several other states, including Bihar, Bengal, and Jharkhand, are also set to witness a cold wave for the next few days.
