The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the possibility of rain on Thursday and Friday in Bundelkhand, the Vindhya region, and districts adjoining Madhya Pradesh. In the rest of Uttar Pradesh, sporadic rain is likely over the next two days, accompanied by intermittent cloud movement.

On Wednesday, bright sunshine led to a rise in temperatures across Lucknow and nearby areas. The maximum temperature in the capital climbed to 34.9°C—around two degrees higher than the previous day. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist on Thursday.

Senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh stated that Lucknow may have to wait another two to three days for substantial rainfall. “Moderate to heavy rain is likely from Saturday night onwards, with thunderstorms expected due to the moisture-laden atmosphere and alternating periods of sunshine and cloud cover,” he said.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was recorded on Wednesday in several districts, including Sonbhadra, Lakhimpur Kheri, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Basti, Varanasi, Ballia, and Hardoi. The current weather system remains more active in southern Uttar Pradesh, enhancing the chances of significant rainfall in Bundelkhand, parts of the Terai region, and southern areas over the next two days.
