The northern state, Uttar Pradesh, has been experiencing torrential rain in recent days, leading to flooding in low-lying areas of Prayagraj, Varanasi and other districts.  However, the last two da remained hot and humid, bringing uncomfortable conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has anticipated heavy rainfall for the majority of the districts in the state, issuing a red alert for 22. 

The weather department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of Uttar Pradesh over the next 3-4 days, citing a low-pressure system developing in the Bay of Bengal. Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety.

Red alert has been sounded for heavy to very heavy rain in red alert for rain in 22 districts of UP, including Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Mau, Azamgarh, Ballia, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, Gonda and Bahraich.

Lucknow Weather: Cloudy Skies With Rain In Isolated Places

Lucknow is anticipated to witness cloudy skies with spells of rain with thunderstorms at isolated places. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to range between 36 and 29 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, the capital city observed clear skies with an increase of 1 degrees Celsius in maximum temperature, registering 37 degrees Celsius as the highest and 29 degrees Celsius as the lowest temperature of the day.

Western parts of the state were lashed with heavy rainfall on Wednesday. 108 mm of rain was recorded in Meerut. On the other hand, the weather remained dry in most parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Some places experienced isolated rains.
