In a distressing incident, driven by the desire for a baby boy, a woman in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was forced to abort her pregnancy twice and coerced into sexual relations with her father-in-law and brother-in-law.
The woman, identified as Mehak Khan, married Shah Faheed in 2021. Within a few months, her husband and his family began demanding large sums of money and a car. When she refused, she became a victim of domestic violence, suffering serious spinal injuries.
According to NDTV, the harassment by her husband’s family intensified after she gave birth to a daughter. When she became pregnant again, an ultrasound was conducted to determine the sex of the baby. Both pregnancies were aborted when the scans revealed female fetuses.

The situation escalated when Mehak’s mother-in-law and sister-in-law pressured her to have sexual relations with her father-in-law or brother-in-law to conceive a son. The victim also alleged that her father-in-law and brother-in-law molested and abused her on multiple occasions. Her complaints to her husband reportedly went ignored.

Mehak further claimed that she and her daughter were brutally beaten and thrown out of their home a few days ago. Her in-laws allegedly instructed her not to return until their dowry demands were met.
Police authorities have filed an FIR based on Mehak’s complaint, naming seven people, including her husband, mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and brother-in-law.
