In view of the heavy rush of passengers during the Diwali and Chhath festivals, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has deployed 200 additional buses from the Gorakhpur region.
Of these, 55 buses are running on the Gorakhpur–Delhi route, 45 on the Kanpur route, and 100 on the Lucknow route.
To further ease travel, the frequency of buses on local routes, Padrauna, Tamkuhi, Maharajganj, Nichlaul, and Sonauli, has also been increased. The leave of all drivers, conductors, and staff has been cancelled for the festive period to ensure smooth operations.
Regional Manager Lav Kumar Singh said that the department is making every effort to prevent passenger inconvenience. Employees working continuously through the festive season will receive incentive payments.
