As many as five people including a father and his two daughters were killed in a tragic accident that took place after two bikes collided. The incident occurred on Friday at nearly 11:45 PM.
According to the police, at 11:45 PM, Suraj and Monu were returning home from a mundan ceremony on the same bike, while Vikrant was going from some ceremony to his home in Mohaddipur Bijli Colony with his wife and three children on the bike.
According to eyewitnesses, Vikrant tried to turn his bike and go towards the canal road in Mohaddipur, when his bike collided with a bike of Suraj and Monu coming from Kudhaghat.
The Cantt police took all three to the district hospital. Seeing their critical condition, the doctors referred them to the medical college, however, they were declared dead later. On receiving the information of the incident, District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh and SSP Dr Gaurav Grover also reached the medical college and enquired about the condition of the injured.
The deceased were identified as Vikrant, who lived near Mohaddipur Bijli Ghar, his two-year-old daughter Lado and one-year-old daughter Pari. Besides these, Monu Chauhan of Rustampur and Suraj, who lived near Betiyahata Hanuman Temple, also died. Among the injured are, Vikrant's wife Nikita and five-year-old son. The third injured bike rider has been identified as Chinmayanand. Police is contacting his relatives.
In another separate incident that took place on Friday, a tanker collided with a sleeper bus full of passengers going from Lucknow to Delhi at nearly 1 PM on Friday. The collision was so strong that both the vehicles hit the divider and overturned.
"8 people have died and 19 were injured in the bus-water tanker collision on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. All the injured are undergoing treatment at the Saifai Medical College ...," SP Amit Kumar said.
