The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission is set to provide appointment letters to the 1,347 Assistant Teachers (LT) on October 14. The appointment letters will be presented by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the auditorium of the Government Doon Medical College in Patel Nagar. 

The state's School Education Minister, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, stated that following the High Court's order regarding the Assistant Teacher (LT) recruitment, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission has provided the list of selected candidates to the Secondary Education Department.

The minister explained that some candidates had filed a petition in the High Court concerning the recruitment results announced by the commission. The court has resolved all disputes and ordered appointments to be made for 1,347 posts, while directing that the remaining posts be kept in reserve. The selected teachers will initially be posted in remote area schools of the state. 

According to the list provided by the commission, 681 teachers have been selected for posts in the general and women's branches in the Garhwal division. This includes 112 teachers for Hindi, 98 for English, nine for Sanskrit, 66 for Mathematics, 109 each for Science and General subjects, 103 for Art, 59 for Physical Education, three for Home Science, 11 for Commerce, and two for Music. 

In the Kumaon division, 671 teachers have been selected for posts in the general and women's branches, including, 90 teachers for Hindi, 73 for English, 12 for Sanskrit, 89 for Mathematics, 88 for Science, 128 for General subjects, 127 for Art, 45 for Physical Education, eight for Home Science, six for Music, one for Urdu, and four for Commerce.

Dr Rawat stated that the state government's goal is to provide subject-specific teachers in every school in the state. The department is continuously working towards filling vacant teacher posts. He added that 2,100 assistant teachers will soon be appointed in the Primary Education Department and more than 800 lecturers in the Secondary Education Department.
