The Uttarakhand government has made three major decisions for the benefit of the state's public, which were approved in a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. In the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday, an amendment to the Human-Wildlife Conflict Relief Distribution Fund Rules was approved. With the aim of providing female employees with work opportunities equal to their male counterparts and to effectively implement gender equality, the cabinet has made a significant decision. Under this, a proposal to grant conditional permission for female workers in shops and establishments across the state to work the night shift (from 9 pm to 6 am) has been approved.

Adequate provisions for the safety of female employees have been included. Female employees can only be assigned to the night shift after their prior written consent has been obtained.

To improve the public transport system in the capital, Dehradun, the government has moved towards EBRTS (Elevated Bus Rapid Transit System) as an alternative to the Neo Metro. This decision was taken after extensive deliberation in the cabinet meeting.
