The Uttarakhand government has announced free coaching facilities for young people from economically weaker sections to prepare for all types of competitive examinations. A review meeting on the scheme was held at the Secretariat auditorium, chaired by Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary directed the Education Department to enhance the quality of the free coaching scheme, ensure candidates are selected through a proper screening process, and schedule preparation timings according to students’ convenience. He emphasised that the scheme should not be a mere formality but should yield tangible results, and instructed officials to complete all related procedures promptly.

Students studying in Class 11 will receive two years of coaching, while those who have passed Class 12 will receive one year of coaching. The coaching will cover all three streams – Arts, Science, and Commerce – and prepare students for almost all competitive exams.
Additionally, meritorious candidates will be offered six years of advanced coaching to further enhance their prospects. Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Additional Secretary Manuj Goyal, and other relevant officials were present at the meeting.
