PMFME Scheme Update: The Government of India is boosting the country’s food processing industry through the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme. The initiative is designed to support small and micro food processing units by providing financial assistance, training and infrastructure development to help them modernise and expand their businesses.

The PMFME Scheme aims to formalise unorganised food processing units, enhance productivity and create employment opportunities across rural and urban India. By offering subsidies, training and branding support, the scheme intends to make India’s small-scale food enterprises more competitive in both domestic and global markets.
