The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved the proposal submitted by Uttarakhand Power Corporation for a Fuel and Power Purchase Cost Adjustment. This adjustment will be applicable for the quarter from April to June 2025.
UPCL had informed the commission that the purpose of the fuel and power purchase cost adjustment is to recover the difference in the actual cost of power purchase from customers in a timely manner.

The commission clarified that if this is not implemented immediately, the cost difference will accumulate until next year's true-up, which could affect the company's financial situation and also impact the quality of the electricity supply.
The commission has directed UPCL to upload the details of the next month's adjustment for consumers by the 28th of the month, so that people can plan their monthly budgets.

According to UPCL, the average power purchase cost at the state border is Rs 5.39 per unit. There is a surplus of Rs 27.28 crore during this period, which will be adjusted further.
