The Uttarakhand Hotel Association (UHA) has welcomed the state government and Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam’s decision to offer a 50 per cent discount in their hotels for the Winter Yatra (Sheetkalin Yatra). In support of the initiative, the UHA has announced that its member hotels across Uttarakhand, including key pilgrimage destinations such as Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli, will also provide a 50 per cent discount to visitors.

Speaking to journalists, UHA President Sandeep Sahni said that a successful Winter Yatra has long been a goal for the state, and the government’s move will encourage more pilgrims to undertake the journey. He added that the initiative will help boost local tourism, curb migration, and create employment opportunities for youth in their home districts.
