Following the enforcement of Uttarakhand’s stringent anti-cheating law, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has successfully conducted 13 recruitment examinations without controversy. However, the graduate-level examination held on September 21 recently came under scrutiny after a partial paper leak was reported.

The state government, under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, had amended the anti-cheating law in February 2023, introducing harsher penalties and fines to curb paper leaks, cheating, and fraud in recruitment exams. Since then, 13 Group C examinations have been conducted for 3,086 posts, including Junior Assistant, Assistant Teacher, Excise Constable, and Police Constable, among others.

Before the law came into effect, several examinations between 2021 and 2022 were cancelled following paper leak scandals. These included the Forest Inspector, Secretariat Guard, and Graduate-Level recruitment exams, which led to over 100 arrests by the STF.

The UKSSSC Chairman, GS Martolia, stated that the fresh graduate-level examination for 416 posts will be held within three months. Only candidates who appeared in the September 21, 2025, exam will be eligible to reappear; those absent previously will not be allowed to sit for the re-exam.
