10 Animals That Do Not Sleep: Sleep, for most humans, is also one of the priorities where they cannot and will not compromise with it. Although, according to studies, eight hours of sleep is often considered a necessary and healthy amount, but if more time is available, humans usually don’t shy away from resting for some extra hours for that added energy. But the same theory is far different for certain animals, who pretty much do not sleep or sleep for mere hours or even minutes. So yes, believe it or not, there are some living creatures on the Earth who are just fine without that 12 hours of sleep. A most definite shocker for sleep lovers and cats (if only these furry felines could understand that). So we found a list of such animals for you so that you can also take a look at them. The list was compiled by ‘worldatlas’.

Dolphins

Dolphins

Anything that these aquatic animals do somehow always manages to impress the rest of humanity. First on the list are the Dolphins. Baby Dolphins do not sleep for at least a month after their birth as they need to resurface above the water every few seconds.

Fruit Flies

Next on the list is from the family of flies, Fruit Flies. According to the researchers, a certain section of female Fruit Flies sleep for only some minutes in an entire day.

The next exotic animal that does not need much sleep is the Jellyfish. However, they do enter a different state to sort of recharge themselves, but their reaction time to their surroundings is far more different than the human's sleep.

Great Frigatebirds

The next on the list is from the skies. Great Frigatebirds, according to researchers, sleep with half their brain active.

Bullfrogs

Bullfrogs

Another on the list is the Bullfrog. Much research has been done on the matter, and it is believed that a typical deep sleep is not something these animals go for.

Alpine swift

Another bird on the list is the Alpine swift. These birds can reportedly fly for days without sleeping. They are mostly found in Africa, southern Europe, and Asia.

Bluefish

Bluefish

For the next spot, we have the Bluefish. These fishes are known for not sleeping during migration.

Orca

Another aquatic animal on the list is the Orca. Baby Orca, like Dolphins, do not sleep for months after their birth. However, the reason for them, unlike Dolphins, is that they keep their body warm for growth.

Giraffes

Giraffes

next on the list is a bit unusual. Giraffes can stay awake for an entire day without an issue. A 5-minute sleep is often fine with them.
