Assam Viral Video: Raising multiple questions on rising hooliganism in the state, an Assam incident left people fuming and demanding strict punishment for the culprit involved. A video was shared on social media, which showed an auto driver aggressively slapping and assaulting an elderly traffic police cop. As per reports, the incident unfolded in Assam’s Dibrugarh, in the Naliapool Bazar area. The incident took place in broad daylight, amid the rest of the commuters watching the assault unfold. As soon as the matter went viral on social media, the internet- along with locals- began to demand action by the Assam Police. The exact date of the incident could not be confirmed.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter), by the handle ‘thetruthin’. The post was captioned, “Assam: In Dibrugarh, an Auto Driver slapped and physically assaulted an elderly Police personnel.”

The video, after getting shared, pulled many reactions. Most people criticised the driver for his misconduct with the elderly, while the rest demanded strict action against the auto driver. Many also tagged the authorities in the post to further highlight the matter.
